Finals
Super busy with finals. Here is what I have to do/have done:
Drawing: We are having a 'gallery' show in the Main Building, in our classroom with the everyones series of 12 drawings.
Painting: Collage painting which is one of the collages from a series of three that I made when I was trying to emulate Henry Darger. Over the summer I want to make the other two.
Fibers: Memory suit in the style of Nick Cave's Sound Suits.
Critical Inquiry: 7 page paper about my critical nature.
Elements of Visual Thinking: Visual Verbal Journey blog and then a piece in response to what I discovered. I drew two self portraits, both life size, about. One was of me bent over, curling up in charcoal and sumi ink with water. And the other was of me stretching up, reaching for the sky in colored pencil on this reddish construction paper. In between these two portraits, which I installed on opposite ends of the room was this incredibly long garland with all of the things that I had up on my walls. All of my photographs and postcards, and all of the strange objects I had collected over the year, as well as two garlands I had made already. These went from the head of the bent over portrait to the heart of the upright portrait to the heart/stomachish black void of the bent over portrait and then to the stomach of the standing up portrait. And then I had a sound piece about myself. And it was lit by a single light, my pink floor lamp.
